"Survival in a Harsh Environment: Adaptation and Resilience of Prehistoric
People in Southwestern Utah, Part II"
Archaeologist Diana Hawks will illustrate how prehistoric people adapted and thrived
in the deserts, mountains and rugged canyonlands of southwestern Utah. Recent
archaeological research shows how the people who were here before us survived so
well under extreme conditions. Paleoindians, Archaic people, Ancestral Puebloans,
Paiutes, and others survived here for thousands of years. Their living descendants
are still here. What can we learn from them?
