and its constituent organizations is done by volunteers.
If you would like to contribute your time and talents to some good causes, consider helping out with one or more of the tasks identified below. Sales Manager The WCHS has the ability to accept orders and payments through the WCHS website. But we need someone to maintain the inventory of products (posters, documents, DVDs, etc.) and ship those products that have been ordered. If this would be of interest to you, please contact the WCHS President at president@wchsutah.org. WCHS WEBSITE TASKSData ContributorsThe WCHS website is an evolving project. The intent is to collect as much Washington County historical information as possible and make that information readily accessible to anyone with an internet connection. If you see any errors or can provide additional information, you are requested to contact the WCHS Webmaster at webmaster@wchsutah.org. If you would like suggestions for specific topics to research, we can provide a list. Website Technical Support We need one or more people with technical expertise who can act as consultants and provide technical support to the WCHS Webmaster. Candidates should have expertise in web authoring tools, CSS, HTML, and PHP code. If you are interested, please contact the WCHS Webmaster at webmaster@wchsutah.org. Silver Reef Museum The Museum at Silver Reef invites you to volunteer a little bit of your time and talent to help preserve the history of the unique ghost town of Silver Reef. If you have a passion for history, volunteer! Want to be involved? There's something you can do to help! Call the museum M, Th, F, or S at (435)879-2254 and ask for Eric or speak with a docent. Orson Adams Home Docents The Bureau of Land Management office in St. George is looking for volunteer docents to show the Orson Adams Home to visitors. For more information or to volunteer, contact Dawna Ferris-Rowley at (435)688-3216 or dawna_ferris@blm.gov. Historic St. George LIVE! Tours Every summer since 1995, costumed volunteers have shared the story of settling Southern Utah with locals and visitors from around the country. A corps of 100 people keep the pioneer stories in the forefront through Historic St. George LIVE! tours. Many opportunities are available to serve in Historic St. George LIVE! Besides the actors, Jacob Hamblin, Orson Pratt, Erastus Snow, Judge John Menzies Macfarlane and Brigham Young, there is also a need for day captains, tour guides and bus drivers, who can be male or female. Costumes and scripts are provided. Each volunteer is asked to give an hour per day for five days to the project during the summer (June through August). Pine Valley Heritage Center This opportunity is for anyone who has an interest in the community of Pine Valley, the Dixie National Forest, learning new skills, assisting vistors, or just enjoying the cool mountain weather. Work shifts are from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Monday through Saturday (can be modified upon request) Duties Include: - Sales at the Heritage Center - Visitor Information - Numerous Special Projects Sign up and enjoy the cool mountain air of beautiful Pine Valley.
