GEORGE WASHINGTON ADAIR

BIOGRAPHY
George Washington Adair was born on June 17, 1837 in Pickensville, Pickens County, Alabama.Ann Catherine Chestnut was born on April 11, 1844 in Illinois.
Emily Perscinda Tyler was born on January 28, 1847 in Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie County, Iowa.
When Ann was about 6, her parents were murdered by two teamsters her father had hired to take the family west. The children were spared, but were tied to a cow and turned loose. They were found and taken in by Samuel J. Adair.
Eventually Samuel's son, George, married Ann.
Ann Catherine died on March 27, 1863 while giving birth to their second child, Jemima. She was buried in the Washington City Cemetery.
After the death of his first wife, George married Emily in 1864.
George died on September 9, 1909 in Bloomfield, San Juan County, New Mexico and was buried in the East Hammond Cemetery there.
Emily died on March 11, 1917 in Bloomfield and was also buried in the East Hammond Cemetery.
