BIOGRAPHYWalter Granger was born in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland on August 4, 1821.Walter immigrated to the United States in 1856. Walter built his home on the south side of Tabernacle, between Fourth West and Bluff Street. Plat A, Block 20, Lot 4 on the old pioneer map of St. George. Walter was bishop of the St. George 3rd Ward from 1869-1877 and bishop of the St. George 2nd Ward from 1877-1893. Walter served a term for polygamy in the Utah State Penitentiary from June 1, 1888 to December 1, 1888. Walter died on May 6, 1904 in Enoch, Iron County, Utah and was buried in Plat A_1_169_1 of the St. George City Cemetery. FAMILY
