HISTORY

This home was built in 1913-1914 by Miner Heber & Sadie Mathis Prisbrey. It replaced their previous home
on the same lot.

The old mulberry tree out in front is over 100 years old. Its shade has protected the home and generations of
passers by. In days gone by, a barrel at its base provided cool drinking water.

After Miner Heber Prisbey passed away in 1943 and sometime before 1958, his wife Sadie lived in the home
until a little cottage two doors north at 267 S. Main St. was built for her. Then Arthur F. Bruhn bought the home.

The home was used for a time as a bookstore for rare books, Doc's Bookloft.

The building was for sale in 2015.

In 2020, the home was being remodeled.
