HISTORY

The St. George Utah West Stake was formed on March 5, 1978 when it was split off of the St. George Stake. The new stake including the St. George 3rd Ward, St. George 11th Ward, St. George 14th Ward, Santa Clara Ward, Ivins Ward, Gunlock Ward, and Veyo Ward.

On August 26, 1978, the St. George 15th Ward was created.

On August 27, 1978, the Santa Clara Ward was divided into the Santa Clara First Ward and the Santa Clara Second Ward.

On August 29, 1982, the Santa Clara Utah Stake was split off from the St. George Utah West Stake.
