BIOGRAPHYHenry William Bigler was born on August 28, 1815 in Shinnston, Harrison County, West Virginia.Henry was a member of the Mormon Battalion during the Mexican-American War (1846-47). He was present at Sutter's Mill in California during January of 1848 when James Marshall made his nation-changing discovery of gold. Bigler served two missions to Hawaii. He was among the first representatives of the Church to preach in the Hawaiian Islands. Henry faithfully served as an ordinance worker at the St. George Temple from 1877-1900. Bigler died in St. George on 24 November 1900 and is buried in Plot B_7_10_4 of the St. George City Cemetery. FAMILY
