BIOGRAPHYFrancis Lawrence Daggett was born on January 24, 1845 in Tisbury, Dukes County, Massachusetts.Mary Elizabeth Conger was born on July 27,1859 in Salt Lake City. Francis brought a herd of sheep from California to Dixie. He prospered in what was a major industry in the area, but eventually sold out his herd in 1890. It was in St. George that Francis met Mary. They were married in St. George in 1887. Francis was a Probate Judge from the 1880s to 1896. Francis was a member of the District School Board from 1899 to 1910. Francis was Washington County Attorney from 1901 to 1902. Francis was Mayor of St George from 1906 to 1910. Francis was a Washington County Commissioner from 1907 to 1909. Francis & Mary divorced some time after June 1, 1900. Neither of them remarried. Francis died in St. George on October 4,1919 and was buried in Plot B_5_10_4 of the St. George City Cemetery. Mary died in St. George on March 16, 1947 and was buried in Plot A_J_F42_1 of the St. George City Cemetery. FAMILY
