HISTORY

The lot shows up as owned by Solon Foster on the old pioneer map of St. George.

Later it was owned by A. B. & Rosilla Brooks Andrus.

Before his death, Mr. Andrus secured a loan of $6,000 from the Bank of St. George to remodel the home. The cost of the job far exceeded the estimate and another $7,000 loan was obtained. Because of Mr. Andrus' poor health, he was unable to meet the payments and the bank threatened foreclosure. Rather than see the old home sold into strange hands, two of the Andrus sons, Calvert and George, obtained a G.I. loan and paid off the mortgage.

In August of 1948, Mr. & Mrs. Andrus deeded the home to the boys who assumed payment of the loan. The property was described as:
    North 1/2 East 1/2 of Lot 6, Block 10, Plat A.

Owners:
Solon Foster
A.B. & Rosilla Brooks Andrus
Calvert and George Andrus
