It was built in memory of her husband Emil Graff who died at age 34 (1897). Julia lived here until her death at age 97 (1960).The home has high ceilings to keep the living area cooler. Outside doors with screens were provided for the bedrooms fo cooler nights and fire safety. This home was the first one in St. George to have transoms and closets.
