HISTORYAfter being in business at Pickett and Snow selling housewares, Erastus Beaman Snow started the E. B. Snow Furniture Company. That business was started by or before 1896.The Pioneer Map of St. George shows Erastus Snow owning the west half of Plat A, Block 26. The north half was used for Erastus Snow's "Big House". Erastus Beaman Snow built a house on the southwest corner of that block. Later, he built a building there for his furniture business. According the ad in the 1941 telephone book, they sold furniture, Dutch Boy paints, Norge appliances, and hardware In 1970, Snow Furniture moved from 1 East Tabernacle around the corner to 14 N. Main Street. The old building was remodeled and taken over by Dixie State Bank. Dr. Mark & Barbara Greene rescued the ceiling from the Tabernacle store and used it in the restoration of the Thomas Judd Store, which is located one block to the west.
