Passes under I-15 at 400 South.


DESCRIPTION

The tunnel is 200 feet long

The tunnel is open to walkers, joggers, cyclists, and scooter users.


HISTORY

Construction of this tunnel began in March of 2019.

The cost of the project and sources of funds were:

      $1,400,000    Utah Department of Transportation
         $200,000Dixie Metropolitan Planning Organization
         $600,000City of St. George
         $600,000Dixie State University
      $2,800,000Total Cost

Construction was completed in August of 2019 with the ribbon-cutting ceremony on the 27th of that month.
