Photos of an aluminum ice cream scoop from the old Wadsworth Fountain.

This artifact dates back to the 1920s or 1930s. It was found with other artifacts in a small dirt basement beneath the
main counter when the Wadsworth Fountain was taken over by the Nelson family in 1949. The scoop has been in
the possession of Clark Nelson since that time.

The basement was nothing more than a dirt cavern, dirt walls and a dirt floor with a wooden plank to walk on. It was
located beneath the main counter where the water carbonation equipment was installed. The entrance to this
cramped area was a trap door at the rear, between the office and a large refrigeration unit.

Photos contributed on 4/17/2012 by Clark Nelson whose parents owned Rex's Fountain.
