BIOGRAPHY
Quentin became very interested and then very talented on the piano from a young age.
His musical skills were used throughout his life.
He formed the Quentin Nisson Band which evolved through a number of generations.
Quentin attended Dixie College and then graduated from BYU with a degree in social science with a minor in history.
Quentin was drafted into the Army on October 15, 1941
with an enlistment date of November 13, 1941 (Army Serial Number 396-80-289).
He served more than two years in England, Belgium, Germany, and France.
He landed on D-Day at Utah Beach, continuing on to the Battle of the Bulge, and also at the Tiger Operation.
At the end of the war he was almost to Austria.
He had many dangerous and frightening experiences while in Europe, but he made it back without injury.
Quentin was released from the Army in November of 1945.
Quentin & Gwen were married December 26, 1945 in the old rock church in Washington.
They were sealed in the St. George Temple on March 20, 1946.
The Nisson's bought the old Merc in 1946 and ran it as
Nisson Mercantile for 60+ years.
Quentin was Bishop of the Washington Ward for 6 years
during which they build a new addition onto the old rock chapel.
Quentin was the Mayor of Washington for 14 years.
