BIOGRAPHYJohn Day, Jr. was born August 29, 1892 along with a twin brother in Hamblin, Washington County, Utah.Since their father's name was John, John Jr. often went by the name "Jack". Jack grew up in Enterprise where he was a blacksmith. Jack was drafted during World War I from Enterprise and was enlisted into the US Army at St. George on August 4, 1918. He was sent to Europe where he served in combat in Company L, 8th Infantry with the American Expeditionary Force in France. He was discharged from the Army on July 5, 1919. His identical twin, Henry Tait Day, was back at home in Enterprise, and one of Jack's best quotes from his letters in France was, "I want to get home so bad sometimes I don't know which of the boys I am." Jack returned to Enterprise and rarely left home again. Jack married his sweetheart, Lorenza "Renzie" Barnum, on October 10, 1927 in the Salt Lake Temple. Renzie died on January 30, 1976 and was buried in the Enterprise City Cemetery. Jack died of a heart attack at his home in Enterprise on January 13, 1960. His funeral was held in the Enterprise LDS Ward Chapel on January 16 and he was buried in the Enterprise City Cemetery. FAMILY
