BIOGRAPHYAsa Starkweather Calkin was born in Elizabethtown, Essex County, New York on July 5, 1809.In the LDS Conference of October 1961, Asa and his family were called to the Dixie Mission. They arrived in St. George around December 1. Asa had three wives and so when the town survey town survey was drawn, he received three lots: Lots 4 & 5 on Block 14 and Lot 4 on Block 25. Asa died at his home in St. George on February 15, 1873 and was buried in Plot A_D_44_1 of the St. George City Cemetery. Agnes later married William Henry Thompson. She died on St. George on January 9, 1916 and was buried in Plot A_D_44_5_WH of the St. George City Cemetery. FAMILY
