HISTORY OF ROTARY CLUBS IN WASHINGTON COUNTY

OVERVIEW

Rotary came to St. George, Utah from Cedar City in 1931 when Dr. M. J. McFarlane came down to Utah's
Dixie and organized a club in the old Liberty Hotel. The club was admitted on January 29, 1931 under Charter
No. 3409 (later designated 1079) with 18 members. Since that time, Rotary has grown in the area with two
additional clubs in St. George, one in Hurricane, and one in Springdale.
