HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSIONS   (HPCs)

A Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) is the local government's advisory board for all matters related to the
historic resources of a community. This board usually has several duties which include coordinating with city
officials and other interested parties on matters relating to historic preservation, conducting surveys of local
historic properties, participate in planning and land-use processes, and promoting educational and interpretive
programs relating to the community's history.
