This family history is of 3rd/4th generation Dixie couple and their family.
It gives insight into their lives and into
the St. George community from the 1920 to 2010 period. Hardback, 351 Pages, 8.5" x 11" x 1" Privately published by E. Durant McArthur Printed by Book1One, 655 Driving Park Avenue, Rochester NY 14613 Compiled by E. Durant McArthur "In this history, I use many primary sources including documents prepared by my parents. For the most part, I use my parents' own words with minor editing for clarification. However, for some lengthy diary/journal entries, I provide incremental, usually annual, summaries to shorten the narrative. The reader will need to pay attention to the first person use--sometimes it is Dad, sometimes it is Mom, and sometimes it is me. I need to say at the outset that I love my parents. They were great people. The account, I hope, makes that clear. That is not to say that they were without blemish. Dad was a man of strong opinions; those who differed with him could be uncomfortable; sometimes I was one of those. Mom was almost always a facilitator, only when she felt her family was threatened would she be less than conciliatory. Sources are listed in references and notes sections. Anyone who knew Eldon would know that he had an exceptional memory and was a great story teller. He was a good writer as well with beautiful penmanship (see Appendix II for examples). From time to time he reminisced about his life on paper, handwritten and word- processed, and orally. Denise's family history efforts complemented Eldon's. She was careful to keep scrapbooks and memorabilia and kept a period journal/diary for many years and did personal history writing as well." AVAILABILITYThis book can be purchased from E.
