HISTORY

The Zionville Cafe went through a number of lessees/owners over the years. Notable among them was the Bingham family.

The Binghams also ran an outdoor drive-in theater during the summers across the street, where the Greg Miner building (198 Zion Park Blvd) is now. The movie screen was right up against the back of the building which served as a concessions outlet, and there were bench seats up to the front and a place for cars to pull in at the rear.

The Zionville Cafe is listed in the 1958 telephone book but not in the 1941 telephone book, 1961 telephone book, or the 1972 telephone book.

The building was vacant for many years.

Then it became the first location of Katherine Brewer's Indian Village Gift Shop listed in the 1972 telephone book.

The Springdale and Zion National Park fire departments burned down the building as a training exercise in 1991.
