WASHINGTON COUNTY POULTRY DAY 1935 SECOND PRIZE RIBBON

St. George, Utah
Washington County Poultry Day Ribbon

DESCRIPTION

A Second Prize red ribbon for the 1935 Washington County Poultry Day
in St. George, Utah.

HISTORY

In 1935, Mrs. Luella Emma Wright Prouse (1907-1989) began working
as a secretary and office manager of the Eastern Idaho District Fair
(EIDF) office. She was still there when it became the Eastern Idaho
State Fair (EISF) in the 1940s. She attended a lot of business meetings
and fairs in Utah and Idaho as a judge, demonstrator, or representative
of the EIDF/EISF.

Luella's daughter, Lois E. Bates, found this ribbon in Luella's things
after her passing. As a Past President & Historian of the Bingham
County History Society, Lois felt this artifact belonged in Washington
County and contributed it to the Washington County Historical Society
(WCHS). The WCHS recorded this image and history before turning the
ribbon over to the Regional Archives at Dixie State Univeristy for
permanent preservation.
