January 12, 2011: Replacement airport dedication ceremony and ribbon cutting. The celebration started with a
flyover by an F-16. The event also included addresses from city officials, SkyWest Airlines executives, and a
dedicatory prayer by President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, Second Councilor inte First Presidency of The Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

November 2016: American Eagle (operated by SkyWest) began flying CRJ 200 regional jets between the
St. George Regional Airport (SGU) and Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport (PHX).

November 9, 2018: Allegiant Air began flights between the St. George Regional Airport (SGU) and
Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (IWA).

May 29, 2019: The St. George Regional Airport (SGU) will close for major runway repairs.
Approximately 7,000 feet of runway will be removed and replace. About 5,400 feet in the
center of the runway will be excavated to a depth of 17 feet to remove blue clay. A water
barrier will be added to the new runway to prevent future water damage.
The cost of the project will be about $23M with abot 91% reimbursed by the Federal Aviation
Administration and the remaining amount coming from passenger fees.
During the closure, the City will make other improvements to the terminal building.

September 26, 2019: The airport will reopen following the runway repair project.

September 26, 2019: United Airlines (operated by SkyWest) will begin flights between the
St. George Regional Airport (SGU) and Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW). Those flights were discontinued
after October 31, 2021, but are expected to resume in March of 2022.
