A site for a new building was purchased in 1934. Funding was provided by the Work Projects Administration (WPA). The total cost of the building was $100,000. The Hurricane High School building was started in the fall of 1935 and was finished November of 1936. Classes began in the new building after the Thanksgiving break in 1936. Seventh and eighth grades were also moved into the high school building.
