HISTORY

Boyd Stout and Dell Stout bought the furniture and hardware business from Graff Mercantile in 1963. They set up business in a building across a parking lot from the Graff store. The hardware business was later sold to the Halls, but closed down after a short run.

There was a fire that destroyed the building in 1976 or 1977, but it was rebuilt with much volunteer work from friends and family.

Boyd's son, Steve Stout, took over the business from his father and his uncle in the mid-1980s.

In 2000, the company moved from the 24 E. State Street location to a bigger building out on west State Street.

Jed Stout, Steve's son, in currently managing the store.
