April 25, 1982 The Washington County Historical Society (WCHS)
was incorporated as a non-profit organization.
1986 Historic Homes of St. George Tours were organized by Char Wecker and Anna Shaw.
Also held in 1987 and in 1990 as part of the Statehood Celebration.
October 2-17, 1987 The Pioneer Courthouse Invitation Art Exhibit began.
It was organized by Sydney diVillarosa and Anna P. Shaw.
September 30 - October 15, 1988
Helped sponsor the Second Annual Pioneer Courthouse Invitation Art Exhibit.
September 29 - October 14, 1989
Helped sponsor the Third Annual Pioneer Courthouse Invitation Art Exhibit.
January 3-6, 1990 Utah Statehood Celebration held in St. George.
Anna Shaw made sorghum cookies and Terrill Clove made Brigham Tea
that was served at the Wednesday evening program.
1990 Representatives from neighboring communities were invited to attend the County Board Meetings.
The County Historical Society began aiding them in forming their own societies.

Helped sponsor the Fourth Annual Pioneer Courthouse Invitation Art Exhibit.
September 27 - October 12, 1991
Helped sponsor the Fifth Annual Pioneer Courthouse Invitation Art Exhibit.
February 16-18, 1992 A conference, called "You, too can write your history" was held.
Anna Shaw wrote the grant for it – Utah Endowment for the Humanities.
October 2-17, 1992
Helped sponsor the Sixth Annual Pioneer Courthouse Invitation Art Exhibit.
October 11-23, 1993
Helped sponsor the Seventh Annual Pioneer Courthouse Invitation Art Exhibit.
October 10-22, 1994
Helped sponsor the Eighth Annual Pioneer Courthouse Invitation Art Exhibit.
