The Washington County Historical Society (WCHS) has been involved
in many activities, including the following:
WALKING TOUR

walking tour pamphlet and bronze markers with information for each historical home on the tour.
BOOK ON WASHINGTON COUNTY HISTORIC BUILDINGS
The WCHS published two volumes on Washington County historical buildings:

Proceeds went towards the restoration and maintenance of the Pioneer Courthouse.
AUDIO TOUR TAPE/CD
One of the WCHS projects was to produce an audio tour tape/CD,
a “Traveling History of Washington County, Utah.”
These tapes or CD’s lead one on a tour of historic sites in Washington County.
They are still available and can be purchased at the
Chamber of Commerce, 97 East St. George Boulevard in St. George.
GRANTS

to make $1,000 grants available to those communities
who had representatives serving on the County Historical Society Board.
To date, five of these grants have be made to support worthy preservation projects.
CERTIFICATES OF COMMENDATION

in 2006 to award “Certificates of Commendation”
